Cookies & local storage

A small amount of optional storage, explained plainly.

Not my noise does not use advertising or remarketing. Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics load only if you explicitly allow them.

Local progress saving and analytics are separate choices, and the site remains fully usable when both are declined.

01

Essential preference storage

If you choose “Use local saving”, the browser stores identifiers for saved guides and routes, completed guide identifiers, and the active roadmap needed to continue where you stopped.

Your answers to guided check-ins and the words entered into search are not placed in cookies or local storage.

02

Analytics providers, only with permission

If you choose “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics receives a page title and a page path with query strings removed. It may also derive broad device, browser, and location information. Google sets first-party _ga cookies to distinguish visits.

Advertising storage, Google Signals, ad personalisation, and ad-user data are disabled in the site configuration.

Ahrefs Web Analytics receives page and referrer URLs, browser and device information, language, and approximate location. Ahrefs says its service uses no cookies or persistent identifiers and discards raw IP addresses rather than storing them.

03

Information analytics never receives

Analytics is disabled entirely on the search-results page and on every URL containing query parameters. Our analytics code does not send text entered into search, check-in answers or results, saved guides, active routes, completed-guide history, names, email addresses, or account identifiers. Not my noise does not have user accounts.

04

Retention and control

The browser keeps first-party preference records for your local-saving and analytics choices. Local progress remains until you turn saving off or clear browser data. Google Analytics retention is managed in the project’s Analytics settings.

You can change either choice below. Turning analytics off stops both providers from loading on future pages and removes accessible Google Analytics first-party cookies from this browser where possible.

Analytics choice

Choose whether to share basic usage data

You have not chosen an analytics preference yet.

Essential-only mode does not load Google Analytics or Ahrefs Web Analytics. You can change this choice at any time; turning analytics off also clears accessible Google Analytics cookies where possible.

Your choice

Choose how this browser remembers progress

You have not chosen a local-saving preference yet.

Choosing “Don’t save” removes Not my noise roadmap, saved-guide, and completion data from this browser.
